S.Pellegrino Young Chef's Mediterranean semifinal stage took place in Hilton hotel, Tel Aviv on May 31.
Ten finalists from Greece, Turkey and Israel were chosen out of thousands of applicants, and competed for the chance to make it to the Young Chef final, that will be held in Milan at the fall.
Three Israeli chefs, from the restaurants Quatro, Popina and Miss Kaplan, made it to the semifinal.
The day began at Bishulim culinary school in Tel Aviv, where the ten candidates served their dishes to an international jury of judges: Chef Aydin Demir (Turkey), Chef Olivier Campanha (Greece) and Chef Meir Adoni (Israel).
The Mediterranean semifinal ended on a gala event hosted by Michal Ansky, who presented the candidates and the judges, and declared the winner: Nicolasos Billis from Greece.
Chef Meir Adoni will also serve as the mentor for Billis, the semifinal winner, and will guide him on his way to the final event.
